Bio-Information
:
Raised in the mining hamlet of Searchlight, Nevada (where he still lives), the US Senate Majority Leader graduated from Utah State University in 1961 and attended George Washington University, where he received his Law degree.  He served as the City Attorney in Henderson, Nevada.  In 1968, Reid was elected to the Nevada State Assembly.  In 1970 he became Lieutenant Governor of Nevada.  Reid was appointed Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission in 1997.  In 1982 he began two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives.  Senator Reid was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1986.
